Wii Fit Challenge

Jenn and I have decided that the time is far overdue to (once again) lose weight, and get at least more fit.  I bought Jenn the Wii Fit for Christmas in 2008, because she had wanted it, and thought it looked “fun and interesting”.  But at no point have we used it to it’s fullest extent.  At that time I was in reasonable shape.  Still portly (ie: fat) but not nearly what I had been when I met Jenn.  Since that time I have steadily returned to my gloriously pudgy old self, much to my chagrin, most likely spurred on by a certain basement flooding more than a year ago.  But that is all past, and therefore prologue.  Now is what matters.  So Jenn and I have embarked on a challenge.  The Wii Fit Challenge.  What we will do (to the best of our abilities) is engage in using the Wii Fit each day for 30 days.  We have no set exercises to do, nor have we set a minimum calorie burn amount.  The only stipulations are A) we both must try to do it each day, and B) we both must use it for a minimum of 30 minutes.  There is no maximum, as we do not wish to punish someone for having the drive to exercise more.  Will this allow us to lose weight?  Who knows?  But it will, should be successful in doing this plan, change our way of thinking a bit, and hopefully gently remind us what we are capable of.  If you can exercise in a video game for 30 minutes each day, certainly you can find 30 minutes to perform “real” exercise outdoors as well.  We will see.  I will not keep track of Jenn’s stats, but I will have no shame in posting mine on here.  Cheer us on.  It is time to get real.
